Large Screen Entertainment
In the market for a big screen TV? With all the time spent at home, there’s no denying that bigger is best. Make it a memorable movie night or a thrilling game day at your place with Samsung’s range of big screen TVs.
A big screen TV is generally considered to be anything over 55 inches (“). However, the ideal TV size can vary depending on your viewing distance and room size. For example, a larger TV might be better suited for a spacious living room, while a smaller TV might be more suitable for a smaller bedroom.
The largest commercially available TV screens as of 2024 are around 100”. Companies like Hisense, Samsung and LG have released TV models in this ultra-large size range. However, TVs up to 100” can be quite expensive and might require specialist installation due to their large size.
For a large room, a TV size between 65” to 85” is generally considered optimal. This size range allows for a comfortable viewing experience from a variety of distances. However, the ideal size can also depend on factors like the room's shape, seating arrangement, and personal preference.
If you have the budget and want the best possible picture quality, a 4K Ultra HD TV is the way to go. 4K TVs have four times the resolution of Full HD, resulting in sharper images with more detail. Full HD TVs remain a good choice for home entertainment, however 4K TVs offer a significantly immersive viewing experience, especially for larger screens in bigger spaces.
4K and 8K Ultra HD resolutions are both high-definition video formats, but they differ in the number of pixels they display. 4K has approximately 3840 x 2160 pixels, while 8K has double the pixels of 4K Ultra HD with a resolution of 7680 x 4320 pixels. This means that 8K images are significantly sharper, clearer, and have more detail than 4K images.
