Almost anything you want! This Sunbeam air fryer is perfect for whipping up all types of foods from a simple steak and hot chips to a roast chicken or lamb (thanks to the Rotisserie Spit), a caramel slice or dehydrated veggie chips, your options are endless.

Below, we share a Spiced Apple Cake recipe that you can bake using the air fryer. With a blend of apple and spices, it’s an excellent treat for an Autumn afternoon.

Spiced Apple Cake

Serves 8

Prep Time 15 minutes

Cook Time 1 hour 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 125g butter, softened
  • ½ cup (110g) caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 ½ cups self-raising flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger
  • ½ cup (125ml) milk
  • 200g tinned apple slices (pie fruit)
  • 2 tsp icing sugar (optional)

Method:

  1. Grease and line cake tin. In a large bowl, beat softened butter and caster sugar together until pale and creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  1. Sift flour and spices over the butter mixture and fold in gently with the milk, until a thick cake batter forms. Gently fold through the apple pieces.
  1. Preheat Air Fryer Oven to 160°C on Bake function and spoon the spiced apple cake batter into the lined cake tin. Bake for 1 hour, or until a skewer inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool completely before dusting with the icing sugar. Serve.

Asparagus with Tangy Lentils & Halloumi

Serves 4

Cook Time 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup beluga/puy lentils, uncooked
  • 1 cube vegetable bouillon
  • Water, to cover
  • One big handful fresh parsley
  • One small handful fresh mint
  • ½ lemon, juice
  • 1 ½ tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • ½ tbsp honey
  • Salt & pepper
  • 250g asparagus
  • 200g halloumi
  • Butter
  • Salt & pepper
  • Honey, to serve

Method:

  1. Rinse the lentils and place in a small sauce pan along with the bouillon. Fill up with water. Cook for roughly 15-20 min, or until soft but with a slight bite. Drain and let cool slightly.
  1. Chop parsley and mint and add to the lentils. Also add lemon juice, balsamic vinegar, honey, salt & pepper. Stir to combine. Set aside.
  1. Cut the ends off the asparagus. Heat a little butter to a skillet, then gently fry the asparagus until browned and softened.
  1. Also slice halloumi and cook in a little oil or butter until browned.
  1. Arrange 4-5 asparagus spears on serving plates, top with lentil salad and a few pieces of halloumi. Drizzle with a little honey on top or, arrange it all on a big sharing plate. Enjoy warm.
