While we’re travelling across Australia in our caravan I find myself using our air fryer quite a bit. Our air fryer was a bit small and therefore a bit limited in terms of what I could cook in it.

And that’s why I decided to upgrade to the Tefal Easy Fry Grill & Steam XXL Air Fryer. Not only is it bigger in capacity (and can cook more things in it) but it’s also a 3-in-1 appliance which means I can grill and steam with it too!

If you’ve ever travelled in a caravan, you’ll understand what a game changer this is as it will actually save lots of space from not needing other cooking appliances. And space is a very valuable commodity for a travelling family like ours!

For one of our first meals with the Tefal Easy Fry Grill & Steam XXL Air Fryer, I really put it to the test by cooking a whole roast chicken. It actually amazes me that you can cook a whole chicken in the air fryer! And I was so happy with how it came out.

I was a little worried that it might turn out a little dry but it actually came out really tender and delicious. It’s actually super easy to do as well. Just season the chook, add a couple of lemons and onion inside it and chuck it into the air fryer. I cooked it for roughly an hour and just turned it once about halfway through.

The roast chicken is then ready to serve and the whole family is happy as everyone loved it! I’m very happy with this new Tefal air fryer and can’t wait to test it out with some more meals.

• What is better, a steamer or an air fryer?

A steamer and an air fryer will meet different cooking styles; one is not better than the other, however if you want both air frying and steaming, Tefal’s Easy Fry Grill & Steam XXL Air Fryer (FW2018) will provide both cooking modes. Air fry when it suits you and steam when you need to. The Tefal Easy Fry Grill & Steam XXL Air Fryer (FW2018) also provides a grill cooking mode. 

• Can you grill in a Tefal air fryer?

Yes, it is possible to grill in a Tefal air fryer. Simply use the included die-cast aluminium grilling plate to easily sear and crisp your foods.
