Introducing Sunbeam’s HeatSoft™ Planetary Mixer

Baking at its best is fun, enjoyable and a creative process that sees the integration of ingredients to craft a delicious creation. To shorten the length of time ‘making’ your goods, the experts behind Sunbeam have created the new Sunbeam HeatSoft™ Planetary Mixer. The HeatSoft™ Planetary Mixer boasts 3-in-1 functions as it enables the ‘softening’ and ‘melting’ of ingredients in the mixing bowl before mixing with the rest of your recipe’s components.

Both a time and mess saver, this mixer reduces the time in getting each individual step ready and also decreases the number of bowls and tools you need to wash up after. Find out all that there is to love and the benefits of the Sunbeam HeatSoft™ Planetary Mixer below.

How does the mixer work?
The mixer uses Sunbeam’s HeatSoft™ technology which applies gentle heat while it mixes, easily bringing ingredients to room temperature or melting it faster so that you can quickly get through your to-do list.

What are the benefits of this mixer?
This mixer lets you soften or melt in the mixing bowl as well as mix so that you can do everything in the one bowl. The HeatSoft™ technology essentially cuts down the steps that would require the use of the microwave or stove top to soften or melt ingredients.

What are the mixer’s features and functions?
Sunbeam’s HeatSoft™ Planetary Mixer comes with two heat modes, they include ‘soften’ and ‘melt’. ‘Soften’ uses gentle heat to bring cold ingredients to room temperature as you mix (great for butter) while ‘Melt’ uses high heat to melt ingredients such as chocolate. The mixer’s side dial knob also lets you choose from 10 variable speeds to suit your needs whether you need to start softly or want to increase the power as you mix.

When can the HeatSoft™ Planetary Mixer be used?
The mixer can be used for all types of mixing needs regardless of the dish. From cookies, cakes to savoury biscuits, bread dough, or a pavlova, the mixer can help soften or melt, and mix all your ingredients together to craft your creation.

What attachments are included with the mixer?
The mixer includes a range of attachments to assist in all mixing activities:

  • ScrapeMaster™ Spatula Beater: great for combining smaller amounts of ingredients and mixtures. This beater is recommended for use with the HeatSoft™ functions and for a clean mix within the bowl.
  • Diecast (Flat) Beater: ideal for maximum aeration when creaming butter and sugar, and perfect for use for heavy cake mixes.
  • Diecast Dough Hook: perfect for kneading dough and other heavy mixtures
  • Stainless Steel Whisk: designed to whisk eggs, whip cream or aerating of batter and mixes
  • HeatSplash™ Guard: helps retain heat when using HeatSoft™ functions, enables easy adding of ingredients and minimises splashes and mess when mixing.

What can I make with the Sunbeam HeatSoft™ Planetary Mixer?

Almost any sweet and savoury treat can be prepared with help from the Sunbeam HeatSoft™ Planetary Mixer. Find inspiration from the below Sunbeam recipes like the Parmesan Biscuits that are great served with your next charcuterie board or the Lemon Drizzle Cake that’s perfect for afternoon tea.

Parmesan and Cracked Black Pepper Biscuits

Preparation time:
15 minutes, plus 1 hour dough rest time

Cooking time:
10 – 12 minutes

Servings:
Makes approximately 30

For this recipe you will need 2 baking sheets lined with baking parchment and a 7cm pastry cutter.

Ingredients:

  • 130g chilled, diced butter
  • 160g plain flour
  • 100g freshly grated parmesan
  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper

  10. Cut out the biscuits using your pastry cutter and place onto your lined baking sheets.
  11. Cook for approximately 10-12 minutes until golden.
  12. Allow to cool before removing from the baking sheets.
